The Pyrenees Climate Change Observatory has participated in the "XI workshop on Climate Change Impacts, Vulnerability and Adaptation" held in Copenhagen from 20 to 22 June. The working days, which were attended by more than 30 experts from different European countries, have been organized by the European Environmental Information and Observation Network (EIONET).

eionet 2017During the seminar, workshops and round tables were held to discuss the new findings and results on recent climate change impacts and vulnerability assessments, and new innovative sectoral adaptation options. The team also worked on the development and improvement of the reference European climate change adaptation platform Climate-Adapt. This seminar was an excellent opportunity to share the roadmap of the Observatory and to promote it as a reference initiative on climate change and adaptation in the Pyrenees.

The main actions promoted, among others, were the 2nd International Colloquium on Climate Change in Mountain Areas PYRADAPT 2017 to be held in Biarritz on 7 and 8 November, the new OPCC platform currently under development, and the publication of the oncoming report on Climate Change Impacts and Vulnerabilities in the Pyrenees, that will be published at the beginning of 2018.

With this, it is already the fifth year that the OPCC participates in this international workshop so relevant for the climate sciences and governance, promoted by the European Environment Agency.
