The climate system seeks to improve knowledge about climate change and associated risks, focusing on the development of homogenised climate databases, research into the specific climatic characteristics of the Pyrenees, and the study of extreme weather events and associated natural hazards.
Thus, the LIFE PYRENEES4CLIMA project expands climate databases for the entire mountain range, generates high-resolution projections, and develops a real-time alert platform for droughts and heat waves throughout the Pyrenees, reducing uncertainty and anticipating impacts.
