Indicadores EPiCC
The indicators of the Pyrenean Climate Change Strategy (EPiCC) function as measurement tools to objectively assess resilience across the Pyrenean massif. They fall into two main categories: monitoring indicators, which quantify the technical implementation status of the 72 actions set out in the strategy, and outcome indicators, which measure the actual changes and direct impact on the territory in relation to the 15 strategic challenges defined.
These indicators are quantified every two years through a hybrid system that combines numerical values (compared against the final target), task status, the percentage of completion, and a qualitative description providing context on achievements and difficulties. All the information gathered is processed and displayed through an interactive Dashboard, which transforms raw data into charts and maps that are accessible to the public.
This system forms the working basis for the MESEPiCC (EPiCC Monitoring Board), the participatory governance body where accountability is rendered to local stakeholders and citizens. The MESEPiCC uses the indicators to detect successful, replicable practices, identify weaknesses and, ultimately, redirect the project’s actions if results show that a change of course is needed to improve the territory’s resilience.
