We are happy to announce the launch of the MOUNTADAPT project website, an exciting initiative we have been working on since June, co-funded by Horizon Europe. Its goal is to transform healthcare systems in Europe’s mountain regions, making them more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
 

MOUNTADAPT brings together 27 diverse partners, including CTP. It is a very diverse consortium that includes healthcare services, public authorities, NGOs, researchers, and innovation centers and universities, all working together to ensure these mountain regions are prepared for the future.

Key Actions of MOUNTADAPT:
✅ Predictive health models: Develop advanced models to predict the impacts of climate change on health in mountain regions.
✅ Innovative health solutions: Create and test new solutions to improve the response of healthcare systems during extreme weather events.
✅ Health professional training: Train healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to prevent, detect, and respond to climate change-related health threats.
✅ Community engagement: Raise awareness and increase resilience in communities about the importance of adapting healthcare systems to climate change.
✅ Healthcare guidelines: Develop practical guidelines to help healthcare systems adapt and replicate the successful solutions developed during the project.

CTP – The Pyrenean Working Community in action!
An opportunity of interest for the Pyrenees. CTP and its 7 territories are part of the MOUNTADAPT project. CTP will play a key role in Work Package 1, focused on preparation and capitalization, and in Work Package 4, dedicated to scaling and replicating successful solutions, which will have a particular impact in Andorra, as its health service, SAS, is a partner in the project.

This project also offers an excellent opportunity for CTP to strengthen internal synergies between two of its key units: OPCC (Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory) and the implementation of the Pyrenean Climate Change Strategy (EPiCC), and UD2 through the Health Working Group.
