The Observatory would like to welcome the New Year 2021 with the february newsletter.

We leave behind us a complex year, marked by the challenge of the global pandemic that still holding in check the whole world. However, life goes on, and besides the fight against the health crisis, it is important not to lose sight of other common struggles such as the challenge of the global climate crisis. In this respect, the OPCC has continued with the implementation of the various European projects in which it is involved and we are particularly pleased with the launch of ADAPYR: a new POCTEFA project that brings together an important network of partners and researchers.

On 20 and 21 October, the OPCC organised a seminar in the framework of the SUDOE MONTCLIMA project on the link between the main natural hazards and climate change. In addition to hearing from the partners on the progress of the various MONTCLIMA actions, there was an interesting presentation on the framework for the management of natural risks in the Alpine cross-border area. We also had the presentation of 6 good practices on natural risk management and prevention, and a participatory workshop aimed at guiding the tools that are being developed in the project.

The last months of the year have also been marked by frenetic activity in the OPCC ADAPYR project. We have held 5 participatory workshops as an initial phase of the co-creation process of the Pyrenean Climate Change Strategy.

We are especially grateful for the reception of the #JuevesPirenaicos. Every Thursday in October and November, we organise a different thematic webinar. Thanks to these public events, which were attended by more than 500 people, we have been able to deepen the valorisation of the results of the projects associated with the OPCC and how to make the most of them in the context of the OPCC ADAPYR project.

We also want to deepen and update a section of our Platform, which is of great interest for the transfer, so we take advantage of this newsletter to launch the campaign for the collection of good practices for adaptation to climate change. With this new call, we want to continue the development of the good practices tool, as they are undoubtedly a source of inspiration to encourage the implementation of new actions in favour of climate resilience in the Pyrenees.

Don't miss the campaign video and take a look at the new form to see if you can identify any interesting experience!

Good reading and take care of yourselves.
