The CLIMPY project has organized in Andorra a workshop about climatic data bases in the Pyrenees, under the umbrella of the OPCC2

  • 12 Feb

Last January 31, the workshop on climate databases in the Pyrenees took place in Andorra. During the interesting event progresses about the reconstruction and homogenization of transboundary climatic data bases (temperatures, rainfall and snow) were presented. Other presentations focussed on the different methodologies  to elaborate  high resolution climate projections within the project and another part of the workshop was devoted to highlight  synergies of these valuable products with the different  OPCC2 associated projects. Among the speakers of the day, there was representation of all the  CLIMPY project's partners (Institut d'Estudis Andorrans, Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, State Meteorological Agency, Météo France, Pyrenean Institute of Ecology, State Agency for Higher Council of Scientific Research, Université Paul Sabatier Center d'Etudes Spatiales de la Biosphère) of the Alps (HiSTALPS), of the OPCC2 project and its associated projects (CANOPEE, PIRAGUA, FLORAPYR and REPLIM).
Once concluded, the homogenized databases and the regionalized climate projections for all the Pyrenees will be available on the OPCC website and geoportal to be used in other research projects.
