The LIFE MIDMACC project is achieving results with the application of landscape management measures and the OPCC is making progress in promoting these solutions to other Pyrenean and Euro-Mediterranean areas (Italy, Portugal and Greece).

  • 19 May

Since the beginning of this year, the Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory (OPCC) has promoted a process of critical analysis by the LIFE MIDMACC project partners and a variety of stakeholders in the territory.
After having held working sessions with the project partners, in which initial learnings related to the four main actions of the project (clearing and pasture recovery, forest management, viticulture and watershed modeling) were identified, a Supra-Regional Working Group workshop was held with the partners and a selection of stakeholders from Aragon, La Rioja and Catalonia. The recommendations identified were compared and suggestions were made for the lessons learned manual, which is currently being prepared.

In a second phase, productive actors of the experimental plots and Euro-Mediterranean partners with whom a collaboration agreement has been signed, in Italy, Greece and Portugal, will have the opportunity to review these lessons learned, contribute from their own perspectives and reflect on the potential for replication in their contexts.
