On November 9th the Working Community of the Pyrenees launched a new Advisory Council on climate change in the Pyrenees

  • 12 Dec

This Advisory Council has been tasked with reflecting and advising the Working Community of the Pyrenees with a view to guiding the work of the Pyrenees Climate Change Observatory.

The first meeting of the Council was held as part of the 2nd International Colloquium on Climate Change in mountain areas, PYRADAPT 2017, and the Plenary Council of the Working Community of the Pyrenees on November 8th and 9th in Biarritz.

This first meeting looked at the work of the observatory, and gathered reflections and suggestions to enable the observatory to continue its role as a meeting point between science, public policy and important figures in the region, and as a guarantor of the integration and harmonisation of information on climate change in the Pyrenees. The advice of the Council will help the observatory to design new cross-border projects and initiatives on climate change.

The Advisory Council comprises representatives from all regions and primary socio-economic sectors in the Pyrenees.
