At the end of its first year of implementation, the INTERREG POCTEFA SOLPYR project, aimed at improving knowledge and sustainable management of Pyrenean soils in the face of climate change, has achieved significant milestones that mark the beginning of a strong cross-border collaboration.
In recent years, efforts to assess and mitigate the effects of climate change (CC) in the Pyrenees have been considerable, especially in areas such as water resources, snow, forests and flora. However, there is still a significant deficit in the monitoring and assessment of fauna, one of the most vulnerable components of the Pyrenean ecosystem.
The Kick-off meeting of the 2023 HORIZON EUROPE MOUNTADAPT project will take place on 4 and 5 June in Paris, in which the Pyrenees Working Community will participate as a partner.
Soil degradation is a complex socio-environmental threat, which generally manifests itself through multiple simultaneous mechanisms that remain largely unexplored in Europe.
