Resilience, vulnerability, adaptation are some of the terms that were not much talked about until a decade ago, and which in recent years have emerged as key words in European environmental and climate change fora.
Similarly, for a couple of years now, a term that has been frequently repeated among people working in the environmental sector: nature-based measures (Nbs).
In the framework of the MIDMACC project, co-financed through the LIFE programme, the Pyrenean Observatory of Climate Change is organising a European seminar on landscape management and adaptation to climate change in mid-mountain areas. The event will take place on Monday 7 June online.
Coinciding with World Earth Day, the second transnational seminar on "Forest fire management and prevention strategies in the SUDOE area" took place on 22 April 2021 in Leira, Portugal. The meeting was hosted by the Intermunicipal Community of the Leira Region (CIMRL), a partner of the project.

Coinciding with World Earth Day, the second seminar of the Montclima project will take place on Thursday 22nd April from 9h30 to 13h, entirely online. This event, hosted by the Comunidade Intermunicipal de Região de Leiria (CIMRL) in Portugal will be dedicated to the management and prevention of forest fires in Southwest Europe.
Thirty people took part on Wednesday 24 February in the launch meeting of the new LIFE Technical Assistance project led by the Pyrenees Working Community, through the Pyrenees Climate Change Observatory: "LIFE TA-CC PIRINEES, towards a more climate-resilient Pyrenean mountain area".
