Good afternoon,

Last newsletter before the big day! We are sending you the final version of the programme of the colloquium which will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of October 2019 at the Congress Centre in Jaca (Huesca).

In total, there will be more than 100 speakers with 10 different thematic sessions covering burning issues such as climate change in the Pyrenees; the most threatened flora species by climate change in the region; the power of citizen science in the Pyrenees; threats to its water resources; the state of the lakes, peat lands and forests in the Pyrenees; or the importance of territorial and international cooperation between the mountains of Europe.

The 1st day of the colloquium  will be about the presentation of the 5 projects which have been working for 3 years under the umbrella of the OPCC: REPLIM, FLORAPYR, CANOPEE, CLIMPY and PIRAGUA projects, with the possibility to go on field trips. In the afternoon, there will be a round table discussion on the power of citizen science and the current citizen networks in the Pyrenees. The day will end with a concert during which the collaborative project "Marboré Symphony" will be presented with the performance of the musical group O'Carolan.

The second day will be more institutional in nature and will focus on international cooperation on climate change in mountain areas. The partners of OPCC2 will present briefly the results of their key projects and the development of the strategy of the Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory (OPCC2 project). We will conclude with a session that will analyse how the different socio-economic sectors are adapting to climate change through specific examples of good adaptation practices.

Registration is still open. It is free but mandatory.
